I'm Mel, a web developer based in New York City.
I specialize in building Rails and Node.js apps using Ruby and JavaScript. My experience includes building scalable, RESTful programs from the front-end HTML and CSS to the back-end logic, database and API.
I'm passionate about developing technological solutions that meet users' needs in a way that makes their lives easier, more fun and more productive. I'm also passionate about collaborating within teams to build such apps.
Below are some of my skills and projects along with my resume and contact info. I can be reached at muhammad.mel@gmail.com if you'd like to talk to me about my work or working together.

Try The World is an online marketplace that delivers food from around the world to your door. This e-commerce, Ember app is built on top of a RESTful Express JSON API. Several 3rd-party APIs are also leveraged within to accept payments, look up tax rates and verify addresses.
Amazon Clone Zone is a single-page, mock e-commerce app inspired by Amazon.com. This single-page Backbone application is built on top of a RESTful JSON Rails API. Users can ask and answer product questions, leave product reviews, browse products, place items in a shopping cart and checkout.
I designed and built this webpage as a small challenge to myself. I used a sprinkling of JavaScript and jQuery to accompany this site's HTML and CSS. Git was used generously for version control.
